EN 17460 and DIN 6701 are the standards for bonding in railway vehicle construction and currently exist side by side.
EN 17460 and DIN 6701 are the standards for bonding in railway vehicle construction. Both standards currently exist side by side. The transformation of the DIN 6701 series of standards into the European EN 17460 is probably the most significant update in the field of adhesive bonding standardisation in recent years.
The coexistence of DIN 6701 and EN 17460 will come to an end in the near future, i.e. companies that bond in rail vehicle construction must then be certified in accordance with the new European standard EN 17460. According to the specifications of the DIN 6701 Bonding Working Group, certificates in accordance with DIN 6701 and EN 17460 are considered equivalent until the end of September 2025.
TBBCert is a certification body accredited for EN 17460/DIN 6701 and appointed by the corresponding working groups (AK Kleben DIN 6701 and ECARV).
